Ugeeta Pala qualified as an admitted attorney in 2012 and embarked on a journey to open her own practice in Ladysmith. Her passion for justice and resolution of conflict also motivated her to study mediation as an add on to her legal practice. Much to her discovery she quickly gained advantage in resolving conflict with articulate negotiation and helping parties arrive at their own findings rather than resorting to litigation which is an almost tireless task of conclusion of legal resolution.
Ugeeta is an advocate for legal education and development and served as an E-tutor to the University of South Africa for a number of years. Apart from practice orientated work she focused on community building and was an executive member and then the Vice President at the Child Welfare Organization in Ladysmith.
She ran a radio station called WOW-Women of Worth as a co-host inspiring women of all races to feel motivated and inspired to reach their dreams irrespective of education, colour or creed. She believes in having an attitude for humanity and serving people. This had led her down the path of law and justice.
Her vision for Ugeeta Pala and Associates was borne in 2012 and has seen commendable results in the area of Road accident fund claims, Debt collection and Mediation.
She was one of five attorneys chosen from South Africa to attend the International Bar Association in Rome in 2018. Attending an international conference of this magnitude certainly made her aware that law is to be practiced with a forward mind and not one set on outdated principles. Her love for justice is a constant desire for her and she believes in making a difference where she can. Her motto is passion with purpose.
